Obama just won.

Yup. Really exiting stuff. Now I really hope that he can deliver on his promises. It's definitely going to be a daunting task. I am more astonished about the voter turnout and how big of a majority Obama had over McCain.

And I was recently talking to someone about whether or not it is a good idea not to vote. What kind of message do you send when you choose not to vote. I think you can have a certain level of refinement and provide explanations that are legitimate in principle. But the fact of the matter is that when you choose not to vote, then the opinions of dumbest of Americans who actually went out and voted matters more than yours when it comes to political matters. Because while they actually participated in the political process, you were merely a spectator, an outsider.
